People in the know are talking about Paxslim. The 22-year-old Swiss-raised Nigerian rapper is carving out his own lane with raw, introspective lyricism and addictive, shape-shifting beats. His 2023 album HOLY introduced a bold new voice, followed by a string of 2024 singles that showcased his fluid approach to flow and production.
He kicked off 2025 with "Just Do It", a track that blends UK grime influences (courtesy of producer Hara) with the haunting resonance of Fairuz’s Le Beirut - a wartime sample steeped in history and resilience. Playful yet reflective, he name-drops Drain Gang and Bladee, but the message is all his own: “Just keep your head up and go, go, go.” Over the toll of a church bell, it lands like prophecy he’s on track to fulfill.
